A strategic departure - Founding Futurum Group.

Several years have passed since I made the decision to leave CHF Entertainment, the animation company I co-founded in 2011 alongside Brian Cosgrove and Simon Hall. CHF was established with a clear vision: to create high-quality, character-driven content for children and families. It was during this time that we developed projects such as Pip Ahoy!, which went on to find a dedicated audience on Channel 5 and beyond.
When I stepped away from the company, I retained a minority shareholding but concluded all operational involvement. The decision was a strategic one, driven by a desire to explore new creative and business opportunities within the animation industry. Leadership transitioned smoothly, with Jenny Johnstone taking over licensing and merchandising, and the company continued on its path with a strong team in place.
Following my departure, I established a new animation studio with a renewed focus on original IP development and international co-productions. The venture has since evolved into a successful business, delivering content that has resonated with audiences globally and attracted strong commercial partnerships.
Looking back, the decision to move on from CHF was a turning point — one that allowed for fresh growth, new collaborations, and continued contribution to the animation industry. The experience and lessons gained during my time at CHF have remained invaluable, shaping both the creative approach and operational strategies of the work that followed.
Change, while challenging, often creates space for innovation. In this case, it laid the foundation for the next phase of a fulfilling career in animation.
